CONEROSS BAPTIST CHURCH

John B. Brewer and his wife, Nancy Sargent resided in the Eastern Subdivision of Anderson County when the 1850 Census was taken. The Census shows that John B. Brewer was born about 1814 in SC and research reveals that he probably died after 1880 in Pickens County, Alabama. He

was a farmer and owned land in Anderson County. By 1860 John B. and Nancy Brewer and their family had moved to Pickens District, Walhalla, SC. The Brewer family joined Coneross Baptist Church and there John B. Brewer served as a deacon and church clerk and on the committee to build a new meeting house. Nancy probably died sometime between the 1860 and 1870 Census since John B. Brewer appears on the 1870 Census with his wife Eliza. Research shows that John B. Brewer was married to Nancy Sargent, Hannah Farmer, Eliza Jaynes and possibly a Hubbard. Eliza Jaynes Brewer died sometime after 1900 in Pickens County, AL. John B. Brewer had the following children: Mary Ann born 1834.
